On Friday, August 25, 2006, a group of children enjoyed a period of enlightenment walking on cloud 9 at the Hayden Planetarium. The educators that acted as tour guides were the superb Mr. Robert Slotnick and his enthralling wife, Leah. Whatever room we encountered made each and every child journey into another time zone. That's what I would call an uplifting experience during their formative years and a happy memory for years to come. Additionally, the tour was diversified in that we toured the prehistoric age of dinosaurs.
The conclusion to our "Seventh Heaven Event" came with our goodie bag filled with energy bars, Poland purified water, desserts, educational kits including mini soft footballs and mini squeegy balls.
Children in the metro area enjoyed an exciting treat and input of unbeatable knowledge. Jeff Funara, Regional Director for the Boy Scouts, brought children from Manhattan and the Bronx. District Leader Jannitza Lune from Brooklyn provided us with some children from Brooklyn and Queens Council Member Monserrate was given an invitation to provide us with his youngsters as in the past at Shea Stadium for Easter Sunday.
I will sign off on the magic carpet to navigate to the Foundation's eighth event in nine months.
