Sitting down to write this thank you letter, I was reminded of a program we have at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals. “Caught Being Great” recognizes members of our staff for demonstrating extra measures of care toward patients and colleagues. Our winners come from all over the list of recent winners. I realized it’s not just staff members like these who make us great — it’s also generous donors like you.
I was so pleased to hear about your generous gift to support the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Roosevelt Hospital. Gifts like these inspire and motivate us to continue out important work, and my deepest gratitude goes to you for your support and encouragement.
As President, I know firsthand the enormous impact that philanthropy has on the life of a hospital. St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals provide inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical care for more than a half million residents of the West Side of Manhattan and beyond. We offer the highest quality medical care, conduct innovative research and train the physicians of the future. Philanthropic support allows us to continue this lifesaving work — and to take the time to offer those extra measures of care that mean so much to our patients.
